Nursery Opportunities

Permanent, Full Time (40 hours per week)

Can you tell a story or two? Can you sing until your heart is content?

If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

Here at Elmwood Nursery, we are seeking an Apprentice Nursery Practitioner and a qualified Nursery Practitioner to provide quality daycare services and assist in the implementation of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. You’ll promote a stimulating environment of play, encouraging and supporting the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of the children.

So, whether you are looking to begin your career in childcare or already have some experience of caring for children in a nursery setting, we want to hear from you!

For the Apprentice Nursery Practitioner, we ask that you hold an NVQ Level 2 in Childcare and Early Years and work well as part of a team. For the Nursery Practitioner, you’ll hold an NNEB or NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education and demonstrate previous experience of caring for children aged 3 months to 5 years in a nursery or pre-school setting. We’re especially keen to hear from those who have experience in a baby room.

Above all, you’ll be happy transforming into a fairy princess, a one-eyed pirate, a horse, or a dragon and be comfortable dancing like nobody is watching! They’ll be days when you go home with gloop, slime, paint and glitter in your hair and muddy puddles and water play is also more than likely!

These roles are based at Elmwood Nursery at Carshalton College. For the Apprentice Nursery Practitioner, you’ll undertake a Level 3 Diploma in the Early Years Education. This will be done at the nursery with assessor support and time out for study, which can be done in the nursery or college library.

Closing date for the return of a complete online application form is 20th May 2024
